My first introduction to the word was through the song Chaiyya Chaiyya - ‘meri shyam raat, meri kainaat/kaayanat’. Kainaat originates in arabic, and is used in urdu and hindi to mean the entirety of the cosmos. Everything that is man made and everything that is natural.

Kainaat is an A5 print of my original hand drawn sketch. A gift for romantics, for lovers, and for poets.

Option 1 is the sketch. Option 2 is the sketch, with a poem by Mahmoud Darwish that translates to ‘if I ever saw a flaw of yours, I’d say the flaw is in my eyes’.
